How fast can a Jack Dempsey grow to reach 8 or 10 inches. And also for the Electric Blue Dempsey what is the max size. I have 6 Jack Dempsey all in 125g tank and they're about 4-5 inches long and I have them for a year. For the Electric Blue Dempsey I have it for 5 months in 75g tank and its only 2.5 inches long.

I've never kept a Dempsey past the 4 or 5 inch range. Every single dempsey I ever kept was a skittish lil girl that would spaz out every time I eithe walked by the tank or made sudden movements. It's a shame too becuase I really like the fish. But I swear, I've kept 6 of them before and everyone was a spazz! Evil or Very Mad

I don't know much about the Blue ones. They are a very nice looking fish though. I'd assume they get the standard 8 to 10 inches.

JD's are kinda passive when compared to other cichlids like RD, Dovii, Umbee. JD's growth rate are very slow especially the blue JD. Blue JD's are very nice and you should grow it out. To helps its growth power feed him/her, do large amounts of water change once a week. Once they get bigger, they will become very messy eaters, but very nice specimen. Good Luck.
