did you mean a pair of midas and a pair of oscars in the same tank?
How big is your tank, but think thats a bloodbath Crying or Very sad - poor Oscars.
midas or red devils are very brutal when they guard fry!

Are you thinking of making a hybrid? It would be fine AS LONG AS YOU DONT DISTRIBUTE THEM(this applies to all hybrids IE Blood Parrots that are very common now). Although I think it would be nearly impossible to get that kind of crossbreed Wink

salut sebastian,

works a short time, but a male midas is very aggressiv and one day your oscar will lose his scales and fins.

i have seen this post but i don't think that my midas would ever beat my oscar because the oscar is the agrresivest oscar i have ever kept he is fighting with pair of jaguars with fry and i ti is strange because he is smaller than the jags

I have a young Midas and Oscar in the same tank. My Oscar is very shy, even she is 33cm (about 13 inches) long and i think she has power. Still little 15cm midas male beats her all the time! I'm about to buy own aquarium for my Midas... And I'm going to buy another Oscar in the tank with the female. I think it would be the best decision for all!

I think breeding wouldn't work with those guys, they're too different! And their genuses are too far from each other! I'm positive it couldn't work in natural ways.
