They are about the same but Oscars are usually just a lil bit faster. About one inch a month.

I have both, a midas/RD and a tiger Oscar.

Oscar grow 2X faster than midas or RD.

and both of them above are right, O's grow about 1"-1.5" per month!

Its amazing the difference in fish. I bought my pleco and my oscar at the same time, my oscar is triple my pleco!
They grow so differently:)

Having kept a few oscars, I'd say they definitely grow faster. But I wouldn't say no where twice as fast. Not trying to start an argument but what where you feeding them?

My Midas RD and O are on the same diet. CIchlid pellets, veggie pellets, acual veggies, blood worms, and krill

My oscar has grown much faster than my O, maybe it just seems that way.

It sounds like you are feeding him very well. Either your oscar just grows faster then most or maybe I'm wrong. Confused LOL Either way, good luck with your Oscar.

My oscar seems to be growing at normal rate, they grow really quikly.

If fed right and water quality is right, housing is the sufficient size, then you'll have an oscar growing about 1" per month. Smile
