i do not know what he is crossed with, but I've ben trying to find out for four years now and no one knows for sure!! so i decided to assume that he was a type of flower horn. i know that she is a Midas/trimac but he is obviously something else.

they had their first spawn last week to the best of my knowledge.
i am quite excited to see the result in the fry of these two.
the next clutch of eggs are getting transferred to another tank.

so he isn't a flower horn, or full blooded Midas than what is he??

the person that sold them to me called them flower horns.

I'm sorry my mistake I only seen your ornage one...that why I wasnt so sure about flowerhorn in him, your other (now I see him) Looks like a flowerhorn mix, you can tell its definatly a mix because of the shape of his head. I'll post back after I have looked around more:)

Nice setup. I really like the layout of your tanks and your fish.

he seems to only get aggro if he is either hungry, being fed, or when he has dug a nest. other than that. when he gets too pushy about the nest, i smooth out the sand/gravel filling in the nest so it gives him something else to think about. i also use what i call a sight break something to break direct line of sight. also there is a buried fish bowl so the female can get away from the male.
