Hi I have a blood red parrot and a red devil in my tank they are young fish less than 5 months old and are getting along okay. My question is, is it normal for your parrot or red devil to get weird black markings on their fins and faces and around their eyes. I first noticed it on the red devil and then the parrot came down with it. A week later the red devil lost its black markings and now the parrot seems to be getting better. They dont act ill, they eat like pigs, and are very active. I noticed in the picture gallery that there is fish with the same black markings.. is this a disease of these fish or is it the norm for growing cichlids of this type?

I love these fish as tey are very commical, and enjoy the 60 gallon tank they are housed in. They even play with the long clawed African frog in the tank. The three of them have a blast in the tank. Please respond so I know how to treat it if it is a disease. Thanks.
