<  other American Cichlids  ~  i'm new here, need some help with my jag :)

hey all i'm a newbie here.... great forum, loved looking at some of the awsome pics on here good work Smile but my question is i have a jaguar cichlid who i love and it is about 16cm (7 inches) and can't sex it..... very anoying for me... ppl have told me both... but i wanted to put the question to rest... heres some vids....

hello sebastian thanks for the reply, may i ask why you are 'not sure' is it becuase its too small to sex ? what makes you lean toward it being a female... (not being a smart ass i'm just curious)

so i'm not sure for 100 % ,but for 90% but not beacause the fish is too small its size is good ,and besides i never say that i'm sure definetly ,everyone can make an mistake ,and i think that it is a female because of couple things such as body shape more full stomache ,secondly color of the fish a male jag this size has mainly dark coloration ,and females have light yellow points on theirs body just like yours has

thankyou sebastian, any other opinions ? another quaestion i have is , when will she get spots all over her body and look like a typical jag, its 7 inches ATM. thanks.

no she won't get this coloration because such coloration is the coloration of jags males ,females are just like yours maybe more lightly colored
