Hi peoples I am most frustrated. I purchased a fish as a red devil. However have since been told it may be a red barred midas cross labiatum. Not that i love the fish any less it has stacks of personality and its still a juevinile. I was just wondering what it is I have and maybe if anyone can tell whether it a male or female. Any info would be great and appreciated

It looks like RD (A. labiatus) to me. Here I found the similar photo on www.cichlidae.com

If you bought it at a LFS, you more than likely got a mixture.

Enjoy your fish

Looks like a RD to me. Armac is right, it might not be a purebred. When its bigger you will really tell if it is a Midas or a Red Devil Very Happy

Nice fish BTW
